Dear Ms. Mosher:

My name is June Ellis, representing the Residential Rental Association of PEI, and I am reaching out on behalf of the landlords within our association.

We understand the challenges and responsibilities that come with waste management, and we appreciate the services provided by the Island Waste Management Corporation. However, we are writing to express our concerns regarding potential rate increases in waste management fees.

In consideration of the financial pressures faced by landlords in maintaining their properties, and the existing limitations on rent increases, we kindly request that any proposed rate hike by the Island Waste Management Corporation be kept to a minimum. Specifically, we propose a limit of 3% or less for any increase in waste management fees.

Additionally, we advocate for exploring alternative approaches to billing, such as group or bulk services, to provide landlords with cost-effective options and flexibility in managing waste on their properties.

We believe that maintaining fair and just billing practices is essential for the well-being of our community and the continued cooperation between landlords and waste management services. Your prompt attention to this matter is highly appreciated, and we hope to work collaboratively to find solutions that benefit all parties involved.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We look forward to your response.

Sincerely,
June Ellis
Executive Director
Residential Rental Association of PEI
